Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced Electrical Design Specialists for a short-term project in Sydney, Australia. You will apply hands-on industry experience to analyze, evaluate, and solve complex electrical design and system-level engineering problems across a range of applications.

You will develop, review, and optimize designs, perform electrical calculations, and validate approaches against standards such as IEC/IEEE. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM, EPLAN or Revit is a plus.

Qualifications

Hands-on electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities or energy projects.
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge of electrical system design and power systems.
Experience with LV/MV systems, protection, sizing, and distribution.
Familiar with IEC, IEEE, NEC or equivalent codes.

Responsibilities

Develop and evaluate electrical designs based on specifications and system performance.
Design and review electrical systems, circuits, switchgear, and motor control elements.
Interpret schematics, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Perform load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit, and protection studies.
Validate designs against project requirements and engineering standards.
