Job summary

Porta Products Oberon is seeking an Electrical Coordinator for our Oberon NSW facility. You will supervise employees and contractors, manage planned and breakdown maintenance, and drive improvements to reduce downtime.

The ideal candidate has an electrical trade or engineering background, 3+ years in supervision, and solid PLC experience. You will lead safety-focused maintenance in a continuous production environment and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade or engineering qualifications are required.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role in a continuous production environment.
• Experience with downtime reduction strategies and plant optimisation.
• Solid knowledge of PLC systems and technologies.
• Ability to schedule work, manage contractors and electrical shutdowns.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees and contractors to maintain schedules, safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Oversee planned and breakdown maintenance to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
• Review downtime and reactive maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coach and develop apprentices to meet training requirements.
• Ensure adherence to WHS, environmental and HR policies and safe practices.
• Support the transition to proactive maintenance and accurate data entry in maintenance systems.

Porta Products Oberon has an excellent opportunity for a trade qualified, experienced Electrician to join the team as an Electrical Coordinator at our Oberon facility in rural NSW.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise work of employees / contractors to ensure schedules, safety, quality, efficiency and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Oversee planned and breakdown maintenance activities in a methodical manner to ensure malfunctions are corrected and planned preventative maintenance is carried out with a high degree of efficiency.
• Review and analyse down time and reactive maintenance reports for opportunities to improve plant availability, reduce unplanned downtime and optimise plant performance.
• Supervise and provide coaching and development to apprentices to ensure they receive appropriate training in their vocational field and are fulfilling the practical assessment requirements of their training.
• At all times ensure adherence to all company policies (including Work Health and Safety, Environmental and Human Resources), safety standards and good housekeeping practice.
• Contributing to and actively participating in the ongoing transition to pro-active maintenance services and accurately registering work data in the maintenance systems.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, applicants will have:

• Electrical Trade or Engineering qualifications and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role, desirable.
• Experience within a continuous production process
• Demonstrated experience in relation to downtime reduction strategy development and implementation
• A desire and ability to learn
• Sound knowledge of PLC systems and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to schedule work, manage contractors and maintaining timelines for electrical shuts and projects.
• A desire to strive for continuous improvement and goal oriented
• Initiative and self motivation to maintain high standards in safety, quality and customer service
• A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to safety principles
