Job description

Our client is a large government organisation operating within a complex and highly regulated technical environment. With a strong focus on safety, engineering excellence and the reliable delivery of critical infrastructure, they undertake a diverse range of technical, operational and project-based activities.
Their site in Southern Sydney is seeking an Electrical Construction Supervisor to support the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects and minor works.
Working closely with the Site Electrical Team, you will supervise electrical contractors to ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with required technical, quality and compliance standards. You will also assist with the delivery of smaller electrical work packages.

Duties Include:
  • Supervising electrical contractors undertaking construction, installation, maintenance and upgrade works.
  • Ensuring works comply with Australian Standards, statutory requirements, specifications, drawings and site procedures.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, workmanship, safety, quality and progress.
  • Coordinating works between contractors, engineers, project managers and site stakeholders.
  • Supporting smaller electrical projects from planning and scope through to commissioning and handover.
  • Assisting with scheduling, cost control, risk management, contract administration and site inspections.
  • Reviewing technical documentation, identifying construction issues and maintaining accurate project reporting.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Electrical trade qualification and current electrical licence.
  • Current White Card.
  • Strong experience supervising electrical contractors and site-based electrical works.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian electrical standards, codes and statutory requirements.
  • Experience within electrical construction, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing or another technically regulated environment.
  • Strong safety awareness and the ability to effectively manage contractor compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with tradespeople, contractors, engineers and project managers.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Current or recently completed Low Voltage Rescue (LVR), CPR and First Aid training, or the ability to obtain and maintain these requirements.

A Diploma in Electrical Engineering would be highly regarded, as would Work Safely at Heights and Enter and Work in Confined Spaces training; however, these are not essential.
The successful candidate will also be required to satisfy relevant site security and medical clearance requirements.
This is an excellent long-term contract opportunity within a government organisation, combining electrical construction supervision with project delivery across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure works.
