Job summary

DFP Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Capability Coordinator for Nerang on the Gold Coast. This hands-on role moves beyond electrical work to training and development, coordinating programs and guiding capability pathways.

You will coach apprentices and supervise, ensuring safety and quality standards across electrical disciplines, ITS&E and civil projects, with a 12-month contract and competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician with current QLD Electrical Work Licence.
  • Experience in electrical construction, maintenance, or civil construction.
  • Strong ability to coach apprentices and workers at varying levels.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety and quality requirements.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent desired.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate electrical training and competency programs across the department.
  • Coach apprentices, trainees and experienced electrical workers.
  • Provide technical guidance to supervisors and project managers.
  • Keep training plans, competency records and learning resources current.
  • Support the delivery and ongoing improvement of civil electrical training.
  • Develop practical learning and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
  • Contribute to electrical safety, quality and competency initiatives.
  • Help shape training pathways and succession planning for specialist electrical capability.

About the role

This is a hands-on capability role for an electrician who knows the industry and enjoys helping others succeed. You'll coordinate training, support competency development and provide practical technical guidance across electrical, ITS&E and civil electrical disciplines. You'll also play a key role in improving the Electrical Training Centre's programs and capability pathways.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate electrical training and competency programs across the department.
  • Coach apprentices, trainees and experienced electrical workers.

About you
  • Qualified Electrical Mechanic with a current Queensland Electrical Work Licence.
  • Experience in electrical construction, maintenance, civil construction or a similar environment.
  • Confident sharing your knowledge and coaching people at different levels.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and quality requirements.
  • A current C class driver's licence.
  • Experience in training, auditing or workplace investigations will be highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent is desirable.
