Job summary

Goulburn Valley Water is seeking a Technical Officer - Electrical and Automation to join the Operations Control and Maintenance team in Seymour. You will help maintain electrical, instrumentation and automation assets across GVW’s water and wastewater networks, working closely with Operations, Asset Management and Project Delivery teams.

You will handle electrical maintenance, PLC programming, instrumentation calibration, and documentation, with travel across GVW’s Southern service region.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Electrotechnology, or an equivalent qualification with 7+ years experience.
• Current A Grade Electrical Licence.
• Experience in industrial electrical, instrumentation or process control environments including PLCs and SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs at water/wastewater facilities.
• Support approval, installation and commissioning of electrical and automation systems.
• Work with PLCs, telemetry, SCADA, and instrumentation to optimise operations.
• Install, configure, calibrate and maintain instrumentation such as level sensors and flow meters.
• Assist with PLC programming, automation upgrades, and HMIs.
• Maintain electrical drawings, PLC records and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders on maintenance and projects.
• Participate in on-call roster and support operational responses.
