Job summary

Commonwealth Government Agency is seeking an EL1 Lead Asset Manager to oversee the asset register, lifecycle plans and CMMS/ERP data integration in a high-profile public sector setting.

You will lead policies, drive lifecycle planning, monitor asset performance and coordinate condition monitoring to support strategic objectives. Canberra-based role with a first-class government environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in asset lifecycle planning aligned with ISO 55000.
  • Experience using CMMS, preferably Mainpac.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, quality management, WHS and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Job description

Lead the asset management function within a high-profile Commonwealth Government agency. Your new company This is an opportunity to join a respected Commonwealth Government agency with a unique national presence and a long-standing contribution to Australia's economic and cultural landscape. Operating within a highly specialised manufacturing environment, the organisation is responsible for the production and stewardship of nationally significant products and assets. Your new role As the EL1 Lead Asset Manager, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of efficient and timely physical asset management services. You will oversee asset management processes, practices and systems to support the organisation's strategic objectives and drive value across the asset lifecycle. You will be responsible for maintaining the asset register and lifecycle plans within the Computerised Maintenance Management System, monitoring asset performance and risk, and coordinating condition monitoring and diagnostic activities. You will also oversee technical documentation and the integration of data between the CMMS and Enterprise Resource Planning system to support accurate performance reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead asset management policies, processes, procedures and system improvements
  • Develop lifecycle plans covering maintenance, upgrades, renewal, replacement and disposal
  • Maintain accurate asset data, reporting and system integration across key platforms
  • Monitor asset performance, condition, reliability, valuation and risk
  • Provide insights to stakeholders and ensure new assets meet operational, maintenance and safety requirements
What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in asset lifecycle planning, critical asset management and programmed servicing schedules, ideally aligned with ISO 55000
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, preferably Mainpac
  • Experience in configuration management and technical data management
  • An understanding of Systems Engineering principles, Quality Management Systems, WHS requirements and risk assessments
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage competing work concurrently
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, communication and stakeholder liaison capabilities
  • The ability to apply risk-focused and data-driven decision-making

Qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline, reliability engineering or asset management are highly desirable.
