Base pay range

A$147,408.00/yr - A$158,710.00/yr

We are seeking an experienced EL 2 Senior Manager, Work Health and Safety to join our client's WHS team. This role will be integral in fostering a positive safety culture, ensuring alignment across departments, and driving continuous improvement in WHS practices. Reporting to the Head of Division, you will lead efforts to build a strong safety culture and improve safety standards across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead WHS Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive WHS strategy to promote safety excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Establish and manage the WHS team, ensuring effective operations and strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other safety professionals to enhance WHS practices throughout the organisation.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to safety standards, legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Cross-department Engagement: Partner with diverse teams in business operations, including science demonstrations and public exhibits.
  • Foster High-Performance Culture: Promote a culture where staff actively support and contribute to WHS goals.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in workplace health and safety, ideally in public or private sector environments. Key skills and attributes include:

  • Proven leadership capabilities, with experience guiding and developing WHS teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
