Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Welshpool, WA, is seeking an EHS Professional to promote high standards across health, safety and environmental management. You will develop and deploy policies, train staff and ensure compliance on site and in projects.

The role requires Cert 4 WHS, experience implementing EHS systems, and the ability to travel to meet project demands. ICAM training or qualification is a plus; strong communication and KPI reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Cert 4 WHS with recent, relevant EHS experience.
• Experience in implementing EHS systems.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Prepared to travel as required to meet project demands and ensure high risk activities are managed effectively.
• Incident Investigation Qualification or willingness to train in techniques such as ICAM.

Responsibilities

• Promote a high level of standard across health, safety and environmental management and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
• Be willing to learn and develop as a EHS Professional.
• Assist in the development and deployment of company policies, systems and programs to ensure positive EHS outcomes are reached for staff, clients and contractors.
• Assist in the provision of EHS training to staff on industry best practice, company requirements, legislative requirements.
• Assist and report on accident/incident investigations and prevention initiatives and strategies.
• Assist with project and facility compliance events including audits, inspections, observations and reviews.
• Confidence in communicating across the business, in open forums and in response to EHS related requirements.
• Providing written and documented KPI reports for projects and facilities.
• Participate in EHS Project and Facility Risk Assessments.
• Respond to workplace, project and facility demands with clear and concise methods and a good ability to prioritise demands.
• Be a team player with a strong work ethic and ability to engage with all workers, in person.
• Be comfortable in attending construction site-based projects, facility workshops and office environments and have an understanding of the EHS related risks that may occur within.
• Assist in the management of EHS within projects with team members.
• Maintains and fosters relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular direct workgroups, contractors and subcontractors
