Job summary

Northern Rivers Community Gateway is seeking Casual Educators to support Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) across the Northern Rivers during Vacation Care periods. Roles span Alstonville, Wollongbar, Mullumbimby, Kyogle, Casino and Lismore, with programs running 8:00am–6:00pm.

Applicants should be passionate about safe, engaging, child-centred activities and hold relevant qualifications. The role offers NSW Award classification based on qualifications and experience, opportunities for ongoing

Join Our Team at Community Gateway Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) as a Casual Educator

Multiple casual opportunities available across our OOSH services (previously named Rainbow Region Kids) in Alstonville, Wollongbar, Mullumbimby, Kyogle, Casino and Lismore.

Children’s Services Award, classification dependant on qualifications and experience.

Community Gateway OOSH, a program of Northern Rivers Community Gateway, is currently recruiting Casual Educators to support our Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) services across the Northern Rivers during our upcoming Vacation Care periods.

Our Vacation Care programs operate between 8:00am and 6:00pm and include a variety of engaging activities and excursion days. We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable educators who enjoy working with children and can support our services across multiple locations.

About the Role

As an Educator, you will:

• Support the planning and delivery of engaging, child-centred programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework
• Foster respectful, supportive relationships with children
• Ensure a safe, inclusive and fun environment in line with the National Quality Framework
• Assist with routines, care, supervision and learning opportunities across structured and free play activities
• Support children during excursions, activities and vacation care experiences
• Collaborate with a passionate and professional team to provide high-quality care across multiple sites

Selection Criteria

• Interest in working with children and contributing to positive learning environments
• Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a team
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place learning framework
• Ability to develop meaningful and respectful relationships with children
• Commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusive practices
• Experience working with school-aged children in education, recreation or care settings
• Ability to travel between sites desirable
• Currently studying towards or holding a Certificate III (or equivalent) in Children’s Services highly desirable

Requirements

• NSW Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• First Aid in Education and Care Setting (Provided!)
• Completion of, or willingness to complete, a recognised Child Protection course (Provided)
