Job summary

Catholic Early EdCare is seeking enthusiastic Casual Educators for DAISY HILL’s St Edward’s Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) to support school-aged children.

Location: Daisy Hill OSHC within St Edward’s School, offering Before/After School Care and Vacation Care for up to 129 children. Casual shifts across multiple services, with opportunities for more hours and professional development.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services is required or you are working towards one.
• Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) is required.
• Passion for supporting school-aged children in a play-based environment.
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing care and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development.
• Create a safe, secure and welcoming environment where every child feels included.
• Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate recreational and educational experiences.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and fellow educators.
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve best outcomes for children and families.
• Join excursions and activities during Vacation Care.
• Make a meaningful difference in children’s lives in a rewarding workplace.

About Our Service St Edward’s OSHC is located on the grounds of St Edward the Confessor School and is part of a thriving school community. Our service provides Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care for up to 129 children.

Employment Type: Casual – Various hours available, with opportunities to work across multiple services.

What You’ll Bring

• A current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• A Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services, or be working towards a relevant qualification. This is desirable but not essential, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
• A genuine passion for supporting school-aged children in a play-based environment.
• An understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time, Our Place, the National Law and Regulations, or a willingness to learn.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Completion of mandatory National Child Protection Training through Geckko, or a willingness to complete it before commencing.
