Job summary

Dawson Street Child Care Co-op in Brunswick, VIC is seeking a Diploma Qualified Educator to join our community centre team. You will lead and support educators to provide a safe, stimulating, play-based learning environment for children from 12 weeks to 6 years old.

The role emphasizes collaborative curriculum planning, family engagement, and adherence to ethical guidelines, with opportunities for professional development and growth within a Not-for-Profit centre.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or ACECQA approved Australian equivalent or enrolled.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Code of Ethics and act within guidelines.
• Current ACECQA First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Valid Working with Children’s Check and Accredited Child Protection Training.
• Experience promoting a healthy, cohesive team environment and effective communication.

About Us

Dawson Street Children’s Co-Operative (DSCC) is a community not-for-profit centre offering quality early learning programs. We are a small centre (62 places) and offer Childcare, 3-and 4-year-old integrated kindergarten and Tree Kinder. Our centre is in Melbourne’s inner north and provides care for children from 12 weeks to 6 years old.

• Lead, guide and support educators and staff within a team to create a safe, supportive, stimulating and educational environment for all children, educators, family and community.
• Collaboratively assist with the development, implementation and reflection of the educational program to provide a high-quality, play-based curriculum for all children and families
• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children
• Implement inclusive practice and lead an environment which honours diversity
• Ensure the room environment facilitates relevant regulations, policies and procedures

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Children’s Services or (ACECQA) approved Australian equivalent or enrolled
• Sound Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Code of Ethics (Early Childhood Australia Inc.) and always act within these guidelines
