Job summary

YMCA NSW is seeking an Advanced Educator to lead and support OSHC services across NSW schools. You will mentor educators, lead from the front, and ensure high-quality programs for school-aged children, focusing on safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • ACECQA-approved Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Education and Care, Education, or related field.
  • Experience mentoring or leading teams of educators.
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and child safeguarding requirements.
  • Current HLTAID012 Provide an Emergency Response in an Education and Care Setting, CPR, Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Coordinator in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the service.
  • Act as a senior team member and Responsible Person when required.
  • Mentor, coach and support educators to deliver high-quality programs and experiences.
  • Lead by example and promote best practice in children's learning, wellbeing and engagement.
  • Design, implement and evaluate engaging and inclusive programs for school-aged children.

About your new role

As an Advanced Educator, you will:

  • Support the Coordinator in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the service
  • Act as a senior team member and Responsible Person when required
  • Mentor, coach and support educators to deliver high-quality programs and experiences
  • Lead by example and promote best practice in children's learning, wellbeing and engagement
  • Design, implement and evaluate engaging and inclusive programs for school-aged children
  • Support compliance with legislative requirements, child safeguarding standards and organisational policies
  • Contribute to Quality Improvement Plans and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, schools and the broader community
  • Assist with service administration, documentation and operational responsibilities as required
About you

You are a passionate and experienced children's services professional who enjoys leading from the front and supporting others to succeed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • An ACECQA-approved Diploma qualification or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Education and Care, Education, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working in OSHC, Early Childhood Education and Care, or a similar children's services setting
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or leading teams of educators
  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and child safeguarding requirements
  • Experience developing and delivering engaging programs for school-aged children
  • Current HLTAID012 Provide an Emergency Response in an Education and Care Setting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
