Job summary

YMCA Victoria is seeking an Educational Leader for the Lightning Reef Early Learning Centre to guide Educators, children and families. The role focuses on program planning, curriculum development and building a collaborative learning culture.

You will partner with Team Leaders, promote a positive environment, and drive short- and long-term goals to strengthen centre operations, with ongoing professional development provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or equivalent via ACECQA.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the ECEC sector.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification.
• Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting & Other Obligations Early Childhood.
• National child safety training - Foundation training.

YMCA Vic Early Learning Centres (ELC's) are safe, supportive spaces offering high quality early learning education and care for children aged six weeks to five years old.

About the role

Your role will primarily be as an Educational Leader, and to secondly assist the Centre Manager to lead and support the Educators, children and families at our Lightning Reef Early Learning Centre.

As a motivated and customer focused leader, your role will involve:

• Working in consultation with Team Leaders and Educators regarding all aspects of program planning
• Promoting a positive organisational culture and building a professional learning community
• Leading the development of the curriculum and ensure the establishment of clear goals and expectations for teaching and learning
• Planning and developing short and long term goals to strengthen the operations of the Centre

The newly appointed Educational Leader will be provided with ongoing professional development training specifically designed for Educational Leaders.

About you

You will be a passionate Educational Leader committed to delivering a superior service for children, their parents and educators. You will:

• Possess the ability to positively network and build effective working relationships with all stakeholders
• Be able to inform and imbed learning and development theories and curriculum approaches
• Have the ability to motivate and inspire the team to achieve set goals and outcomes
• Possess excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to delegate, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
