Job summary

Sale & District Specialist School is seeking an Education Support Class employee to assist teachers and contribute to the inclusive learning environment for students aged 4 years 8 months to 18 years. Qualifications

• Duties performed under supervision and direction.
• Experience in educational support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine support for teachers including planning student routines and day-to-day tasks.
• Supports communication between teachers and parents about student progress.
• Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students.
• Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students (toileting, meals, lifting).
• Communicates with students to support understanding of tasks and information.
• Addresses immediate behavioural presentations within classroom settings following school policy.
• Provides basic supervision for groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
• Supports teachers in coordinating educational programs and rostering of aides and resources.
• Provides medical intervention support to students under defined conditions with proper training.
• Delivers specialised communication support for students and teachers (AUSLAN and braille).
