Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking an Education Support Officer – Clerk Grade 3/4 to provide administrative and clerical support for offender distance education programs across various NSW locations. You will work with correctional centres, external providers and inmates to facilitate access to education and help offenders develop skills for rehabilitation and reintegration.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration supporting project delivery.
• Ability to work in a corrections environment with sensitivity.
• Strong data management and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of administrative tasks for distance education, including records management, maintaining registers, preparing manuals, correspondence, and reports.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the coordination and delivery of distance education programs.
• Work directly with inmates on a daily basis to manage and facilitate their individual study requirements and provide necessary information and resources.
• Maintain accurate records of offender engagement and participation.
• Assist with the reporting processes by collating and interpreting data and contributing to improvements in reporting systems.
• Collate, interpret, manage and disseminate information directly to inmates to support distance education development and implementation.
• Respond to enquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information on referrals as required.
• Participate in centre-based activities that enhance the delivery of distance education initiatives.
• Respond to incoming enquiries (over the phone or face to face), providing information and referring enquiries in an effective and responsive manner.
