Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services in the Rockhampton region is seeking an Education Officer to design, plan and implement education and vocational training programs for inmates, aligned with rehabilitation goals and community links.

You will monitor external providers, assess inmates' education needs, support sentence and case management, and help ensure a safe, compliant learning environment within Capricornia Correctional Centre.

Qualifications

• Design, plan and implement an education and training program for the correctional facility, focusing on vocational and educational training.
• Monitor and coordinate the work of external personnel within the centre's education program.
• Consult and liaise with training providers and other community groups for providing appropriate educational services.
• Assess inmates' education standards and provide advice on opportunities within the centre and community.
• Contribute to sentence and case management processes and assess community-based options.
