Deakin University, based at Melbourne Burwood Campus with hybrid arrangements, seeks a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Economics. The role involves leading teaching teams, integrating industry and research in curricula, and advancing innovative, inclusive learning design across delivery modes.

The appointee will develop assessment tasks, mentor staff, and contribute to pedagogical research while maintaining strong teaching excellence and community engagement.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Strong expertise in macroeconomics, international trade, or microeconomic theory with high-quality publications and/or external funding.
• Excellent teaching record at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including curriculum development and HDR supervision.
• Capacity to contribute to research leadership, academic administration, and community engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships.

Responsabilités

• Lead unit and course teaching teams, developing curricula and learning materials across the faculty.
• Integrate industry, clinical and research practice into unit and course design to enhance student learning.
• Lead development and adoption of innovative, learner-centric curriculum design across levels and delivery modes.
• Develop and moderate high-quality assessment tasks and rubrics with clear criteria and timely feedback.
• Foster collaboration and educational excellence by mentoring colleagues and contributing to pedagogical research.
