Job description

Overview

Join our Economic Development team as the central coordination point for team operations and customer engagement.

In this role you will streamline systems, refine processes and manage team databases. As a proactive problem solver, you will stay one step ahead anticipating team and customer needs and champion seamless business operations.

You will be the first point of contact for inbound enquiries, delivering exceptional customer-first service to all internal and external stakeholders, helping to build small business capacity and strengthen our local economy.

Within the team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of Economic Development programs, services and events and broaden your skillset through hands-on delivery of internal and external project work.

What You’ll deliver
Administration, Process Improvement and Database Management
  • Document, refine and continually improve Economic Development processes, working with officers to identify efficiencies, strengthen business continuity, and champion improvements that enhance project delivery and overall team performance.
  • Oversee and optimise team databases including ABR uploads, CRM, OneNote and SharePoint, while leading team adoption and effective use of key organisational systems such as ECM, OneCouncil and Request Management to ensure accuracy, usability and seamless operations.
  • Provide leadership in the co-ordination of core team operations, including the preparation of agendas and minutes for team meetings and managing meeting room bookings.
  • Develop and produce a monthly activity report including data analysis and statistical insights across the Economic Development team.
  • Monitor Business in Casey mailbox and incoming phone enquiries, responding directly as appropriate or triaging enquiries to relevant officers within the team.
Project Support
  • Provide comprehensive support to officers in the planning and delivery of business development programs and events
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders from industry, government, the local business community and internal departments to support delivery of Economic Development projects
Business Development Project Work
  • Lead the delivery of business support project initiatives and participate in business engagement activities.
What You’ll Bring
  • An interest in or basic understanding of Economic Development and / or small business development and support is highly regarded
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills with an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail enabling accuracy and quality control in data entry, database management, reporting and document creation.
  • Foresight to anticipate team needs, address issues early, and ability to deliver practical problem solving solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, sharepoint and basic IT literacy to adapt to new programs and troubleshoot new technology and software
  • Creative eye for producing engaging content and visual materials
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check.
