Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW, delivering services to over 380,000 residents. The Economic Development Project Officer will lead initiatives to support sustainable growth, business investment and vibrant precincts through collaboration with businesses, government and community partners.

You will manage place-based programs and attract investment to strengthen the local economy.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience using EDM platforms.
• Analyses economic, demographic and labour market data and translates findings into policy and program recommendations.
• Ability to work autonomously within a team-focused, outcomes-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver initiatives under Economic Development Strategy and Night Time Economy Action Plan to support growth and local employment.
• Develop, manage and evaluate economic development projects, programs and partnerships.
• Lead place-based initiatives such as Purple Flag Program and Special Entertainment Precincts.
• Build and maintain relationships with businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and community stakeholders.
• Undertake research and data analysis to identify trends and provide advice to inform Council decisions.
• Identify and manage grant and funding opportunities contributing to objectives.
• Develop business engagement, innovation, marketing and digital communications initiatives.
• Monitor and report on project performance and budgets.
