Job summary

UnitingCare Wesley Bowden’s Torrensville Community Childcare Centre is seeking a Children’s Services Educator to assist with developmentally appropriate programs for infants to preschoolers, promoting high-quality education and care.

You will meet certificate, first aid, checks, and work with diverse backgrounds; contribute to inclusive practices; align with EYLF and NQS; join a supportive team in Torrensville.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain in the first 3 months of employment).
  • Current RRHAN-EC certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with children in a positive, sensitive, and respectful way.
  • Collaboration with team members to ensure the inclusion, support, and care of all children.
  • Understanding of the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational experiences for children.
  • Experience engaging with groups of children aged birth to 6 years.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Current DHS Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one at your own cost, before starting employment.
  • Current National Police Check or the ability to obtain one at your own cost.
  • Essential skills, knowledge, and training in food safety and hygienic handling of food and equipment as mandated by the Food Safety Legislation 2001.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for individual children and groups.
  • Support high-quality education and care by implementing inclusive programs for all children.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of programs including those with additional needs, disabilities, and diverse backgrounds.
  • Create age-appropriate programs and experiences to help children thrive in learning environments.
  • Apply knowledge and practices underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
