Job summary

Early Learning Victoria Cohuna is opening in 2027 as part of a new 102-place centre co-located with Cohuna Consolidated School. The role is for an Early Childhood Educator with Certificate III, delivering high-quality play-based education to children aged three to school entry.

You will work with families and colleagues to implement the educational program in line with state frameworks and safety standards, ensuring every child feels safe and valued.

Qualifications

• ACECQA approved Certificate III level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively working towards completion.
• Valid Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR; anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications; mandatory reporting training.
• Agreement to a police check; international police check if resided outside Australia for 12+ months in the last 10 years.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate preferred or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the team to deliver high-quality early childhood education guided by evidence-informed pedagogy and best practice.
• Contribute to planning and implementing the educational program aligned with the National Quality Standards and Victorian frameworks.

Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III)

Early Learning Victoria (ELV), as part of the Department of Education, is leading the roll-out of 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032, with 18 currently operating. Our centres offer long day care, three and four-year-old kindergarten and pre-prep in accessible, play-based environments connected to local communities. About the Role

Opening in 2027 and co-located with Cohuna Consolidated School, Early Learning Victoria Cohuna is a 102-place centre offering long day care, three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten programs.

In this role, you will:

Support the team to deliver high-quality early childhood education guided by evidence-informed, contemporary pedagogy and practice

Contribute to and assist in the planning and implementation of the educational program, aligned with the National Quality Standards, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and National Education and Care Law and Regulations

Monitor children's progress and support their social, emotional and cognitive development

Build respectful, collaborative relationships with families, children and colleagues, ensuring all children feel safe and valued

About You

Experience as an early childhood educator (Certificate III), delivering a high-quality play-based educational program (recently qualified candidates are welcome to apply)

Sound understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, Education Care Services National Law and Regulations, the National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards

Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, children, families and communities

Experience working with children and families experiencing vulnerability is desirable

Qualifications and Experience
