Job summary

Shire of Glenelg is seeking an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III in Early Childhood Care and Education) to support children aged 0 to kindergarten at the Karreeta Peeneeyt Mara Portland Child and Family Complex. The role is 24 hours per week on an ongoing basis, based in Portland, Victoria.

You will work in a fast-paced, welcoming team, applying the National Quality Framework to daily practice, and collaborating with families to support learning, wellbeing, independence and development.

Qualifications

• Understanding of and a desire to work with children aged 0 to kindergarten.
• Positive outlook and team approach.
• Effective communication skills.
• Certificate III Education and Care.
• Current First Aid qualification HLTAID012.
• National Child Safety training.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and its impact on daily practice.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Experience assisting in developing and implementing educational programs.
• Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
• Ability to manage risks and health and safety issues.

About the Opportunity

Early Childhood Educator (24 hours per week – Ongoing) We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III in Early Childhood Care and Education) who is motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young children and their families. Based at the Karreeta Peeneeyt Mara Portland Child and Family Complex, this ongoing position offers 24 hours per week in a fast paced, welcoming and supportive team environment. Located in the Coastal town of Portland in Victoria’s Southwest, the Karreeta Peeneeyt Mara Portland Child and Family Complex is a purpose-built facility providing both Long Day Care and Kindergarten programs.
