Job summary

W3Global is seeking a talented junior lawyer in Sydney to join a team serving state government agencies and local authorities. You will work closely with partners and counsel, supported by a skilled team, on diverse matters including planning, environment, property, and governance for public sector clients.

The role is designed for recent admittees (within 3 years) or soon-to-be admitted graduates who excel academically and demonstrate strong statutory interpretation and research skills.

Qualifications

• Recent admission (last 3 years) or soon to be admitted.
• Exposure to planning & environment law, property or government law during study or practice.
• Strong academic record with demonstrated legal research and statutory interpretation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cooperative team.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners and counsel on a range of matters in planning & environment law.
• Assist with development appeals and judicial review in Land & Environment Court.
• Support environmental prosecutions in Local Court and Land & Environment Court.
• Contribute to planning & development work and development agreements.
• Engage with biodiversity, pollution, and complex property matters for public sector clients.
• Participate in governance and administration matters affecting the public sector.
