Job summary

Collingwood English Language School is seeking a classroom teacher to deliver intensive English as an Additional Language programs across multiple campuses including Collingwood, Broadmeadows and Craigieburn. The role focuses on planning, preparing and delivering targeted teaching to newly arrived migrants and refugees, with emphasis on literacy and numeracy development.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills.
• SC2 Planning for high-impact teaching strategies informed by how students learn.
• SC3 Monitoring and assessing student learning with data feedback to students and parents.
• SC4 Interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• SC5 Reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake non-teaching duties as required by School Principal.
• Engage with parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Support inclusion and wellbeing through classroom practice.
