Job summary

Sunbury College in Melbourne’s north-west growth corridor is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to join our Years 7–12 program. The role emphasises evidence-informed teaching, literacy and numeracy, student wellbeing and inclusive practice to help all learners thrive.

You will plan, deliver and assess learning programs, use data to inform teaching, collaborate with colleagues across sub-schools, mentor early-career teachers and contribute to whole-school improvement aligned with the SSP.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the curriculum and ability to integrate literacy and numeracy into teaching.
• Ability to plan high-impact teaching strategies.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and providing feedback.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with families and colleagues.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curricula and school programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching and organisational duties as appropriate to the role.
• Support data-informed teaching and use student data to inform practice.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, and school events.
• Engage in professional learning and school improvement initiatives.
