Job summary

Blackburn High School in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is seeking a classroom teacher to deliver engaging lessons for diverse students in Years 7–12. The role focuses on planning, preparation and teaching, with scope to contribute beyond teaching duties as experience grows.

The successful candidate will be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, demonstrate literacy/numeracy requirements and participate in professional learning aligned with department values and school priorities.

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Postgraduate initial teacher education program accredited by a Australian state/territory authority.
• Evidence of literacy and numeracy test requirements (LANTITE) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
• Undertake other teaching-related and organisational duties as directed by the principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
