Job summary

Joyful Hearts Early Learning Centre in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Centre Director to lead daily operations and drive high-quality education and care outcomes for children and families.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and Care, 10+ years in ECE with 5+ in leadership, WWCC, up-to-date First Aid/CPR, and strong knowledge of NQF/NQS/EYLF. You will lead staff, manage enrolments, budget, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA-approved).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in early childhood education, including at least 5 years in leadership/management.
• Current WWCC and up-to-date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications.
• Strong knowledge of the NQF, NQS, EYLF and state regulations.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor staff, manage budgets and rostering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily centre operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead, mentor and manage educators and support staff.
• Manage enrolments, occupancy and waitlists to meet targets.
• Coordinate CCS processes and liaise with CCSS/Services Australia.
• Maintain the centre's QIP and prepare for Assessment and Rating.
• Ensure health, safety, child protection and WHS policies are followed.
• Prepare and monitor the centre budget and P&L reporting.
• Maintain staff-to-child ratios and qualification requirements.
• Communicate with families to address concerns and drive satisfaction.
