Ethos BeathChapman is recruiting DWDM Optical Engineers for a 12-month daily-rate contract across large-scale optical transport networks in Australia. The role focuses on software upgrades, legacy device decommissioning and production upgrades across multiple vendor platforms with minimal supervision.

The successful candidates will join a highly autonomous team, operate in 24/7 production environments, perform hands-on upgrade work and coordinate with planning and automation groups to ensure

Formación

• Minimum 2+ years of industry experience in optical networking or telecommunications.
• Hands-on experience with the deployment and operation of large-scale DWDM networks.
• Experience with optical planning and modelling tools.

Responsabilidades

• Execute software upgrades on production optical network devices across multiple vendor platforms.
• Perform manual upgrade procedures where automated deployment pipelines cannot reach devices.
• Coordinate with planning and automation teams to ensure upgrade readiness.
• Document upgrade procedures, outcomes, and any exceptions encountered.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support operational coverage.
