Job summary

Mitchell Shire Council is seeking a casual Duty Manager to lead on-site operations across leisure centres in Mitchell Shire. You will manage daily activities, ensure safety, and deliver high-quality customer service to pool and centre users.

You’ll act as the on-shift responsible person, coordinate incident responses, and uphold all safety policies while supporting program operations seven days a week during peak seasons.

Qualifications

  • Current Level 2 First Aid (HLTAID003) and high standard of customer service.
  • Current Working with Children Check and Pool Lifeguard or AustSwim accreditation.
  • Ability to lead as on-shift responsible person and handle incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Be the duty manager and lead during daily operations and incidents.
  • Oversee day-to-day running of leisure centres and ensure safety and welcoming environment.
  • Provide leadership on shift, coordinate responses to emergencies and maintain policies.

About the Opportunity

Our Duty Managers are the first point of contact for our patrons and play a critical role in the daily success of our centres. With comprehensive training, you will develop a broad knowledge of our programs, services and operations, delivering exceptional customer service and member support. You will be confident in backfilling a variety of operational roles as required, overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre, and ensuring a safe, welcoming and efficient environment for all users.

As the designated responsible person on shift, you will provide leadership during incidents and emergencies, coordinate responses to major incidents, make critical operational decisions, and ensure all relevant policies, procedures and safety requirements are followed.

Our Leisure Centres operate seven (7) days a week with outdoor pools running throughout the Summer Season.

This is a casual opportunity with opportunities to upskill and aid your career progression. The hourly rate beginning at $46.39 (LSO Band 4) plus superannuation

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering great outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively with others.

You will be energetic, passionate and fun. You work well within a team, have outstanding communication skills and enjoy dealing with the public. You take initiative and are professional in your approach. You will possess a current level 2 first aid (HLTAID003, current Employee Working with Children Check and current AUSTSWIM or similar accreditation and/or Pool Lifeguard certification.
