Job summary

Vault Minerals operates the King of the Hills (KOTH) gold mine in Western Australia and is recruiting Dump Truck and Water Cart Operators as it transitions to an Owner-Operator model. The role involves a 14:7 or 15:13 FIFO roster from Perth, with flights roughly an hour from Perth to Leonora and rewards such as Virgin Velocity points.

You will operate Hitachi EH3500AC-3 Dump Trucks and Cat 777 Water Carts, perform prestart checks, support production targets, and uphold safety and environmental

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hard rock or gold mining operations.
• Experience operating haul (dump) trucks and water carts.
• Familiarity with fleet management systems (e.g., Wenco).
• Working knowledge of WA Mining Act, Regulations and WHS legislation.
• Current WA Driver’s Licence (manual C Class).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate haul (dump) trucks to meet production targets under Mine Control.
• Operate water carts to maintain dust suppression on haul roads and pits.
• Perform prestart inspections and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain haul road awareness and traffic management.
• Identify hazards and report changes in road/pit conditions.
• Follow dispatch directions to meet operational needs.
• Assist with ancillary tasks and site cleanups as required.

King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. Undergoing significant expansion, KOTH is nearing completion of a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant (previously 5.2Mtpa), providing a solid platform for long‑term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open‑pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Dump Truck and Water Cart Operator is responsible for operating heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently in an open pit mining environment. The position supports mine production activities by achieving planned operational targets and maintaining compliance with company safety procedures, environmental obligations, and operational standards.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Safely operate haul (dump) trucks under Mine Control direction, ensuring efficient material movement to meet mine plans and production targets.
• Operate water carts to maintain effective dust suppression on haul roads, pit floors, dumps, and other designated areas.
• Conduct prestart inspections and complete all required documentation.
• Maintain haul road awareness, traffic management, and safe following distances.
• Identify changes in road or pit conditions and report hazards promptly.
• Follow directions from dispatch and supervisors to meet operational requirements.
• Carry out ancillary tasks such as clean ups, rehandle, and support activities as required.

About You

• Proven experience in hard rock or gold mining operations, operating haul (dump) trucks and water carts in large-scale open-pit environments, including dust suppression activities.
• Proven awareness of open-pit traffic management and the safe operation of haul roads within mining environments.
• Experience working with fleet management systems, such as Wenco or equivalent mining fleet management technologies, is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of WA Mining Act, Regulations, and WHS legislation.
• Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
