Your new role:
We are currently seeking aFull-Time Truck Driver / Loader to join ourMelbourne AirportOperations team. In this role, you willbe driving daily, back and forth to theMelbourne Airport,drivinghi-lift catering trucks, whilst working at heights, and partnering with a colleague in a team of two to load and unload meal catering trolleys efficiently and safely. This position is "hands-on" and ideal for someone who enjoys both localdriving and physical work.
A typical day, you would be responsible for:
- Drive and operate hi-lift catering trucks safely, including working at heights
- Complete accurate, timelyloading and off-loading of catering trolleys andmaterials, ensuring load security and operational efficiency
- Work collaboratively as part of a two-person team to meet flight and service schedules
- Conduct pre-trip checks, keep vehicles clean, and operate all equipment safely
- Follow loading lists, stowage plans, and customer, health, and safety requirements
- Report any incidents, injuries, missing materials, or operational issues promptly
- Completes the gathering and fault free timely load / off-load of catering material, assuring complete load security, co-ordinating with all necessary departments and duty manager
- Loads and unloads aircraft in accordance with flight schedules, loading lists / labels and stowage’s in the correct galley positions and health and safety / customer requirements
- Liaises with the Transport Dispatcher in the case of injuries and accidents, absence of material, or any other irregular operations or block outs
About you:
- A current MR or HR driver's licence (MC or HC highly regarded)
- Experience operating MR, HR, HC, or MC class vehicles
- Comfortable working at heights and handling/ unloading catering trolleys
- Strong teamwork skills and a proactive, safety-focused approach
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Availability to work5 days out of 7, includingoccasional weekend shifts, across morning and afternoon rosters
- Ability to obtain anASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and ADA (Airside Driving Authority)
- No criminal history
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical (at the companies cost)
