The Gem Hotel in Alberton, QLD is seeking a Drive Thru/Liquor Barn Attendant to join our team in a casual role. You will be the face of our operation during shifts, delivering prompt and friendly service at both the drive-through and liquor barn.

Responsibilities include handling transactions, assisting customers with product choices, stocking displays, enforcing age verification, and adhering to liquor licensing laws.

Qualifications

Job description

The Gem Hotel is seeking a Drive Thru/Liquor Barn Attendant to join our team in Alberton, QLD 4207. This is a casual position that plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service at our drive-through and liquor barn facilities. We are building a brand new large format Drive thru and are looking for new staff to come in and work with us through the transition and then operation of the new Barn!

You will be the face of our operation during your shifts, ensuring customers receive prompt, friendly service and have a positive experience every time they visit us. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for quality service and contributing to the smooth operation of our retail alcohol sales.

What you'll be doing

• Serving customers at the drive-through window with efficiency and professionalism
• Processing cash and card transactions accurately and securely
• Assisting customers with product selection and recommendations from our liquor range
• Stocking shelves and displays in the liquor barn with merchandise and maintaining neat, organised displays
• Checking customer identification to verify age compliance for alcohol purchases
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the drive-through and liquor barn areas
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally and courteously
• Following all relevant liquor licensing laws and The Gem Hotel policies
• Operating point-of-sale systems and other required equipment

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a hospitality or bottle shop environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse customers
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work casual hours including evenings and weekends as required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Cash handling experience and proficiency with point-of-sale systems
• Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol principles
• Physical capability to lift and carry stock regularly
• Attention to detail and organisational skills
• Australian working rights and current identification
• A responsible attitude towards liquor service and age verification
