Job summary

Premium Mechanical Group is seeking qualified and experienced Drill Fitters to join our mobile plant maintenance team across major mining operations in the Pilbara. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs and component changeouts on Epiroc (Atlas Copco) and Caterpillar drill rigs.

The role operates on 12-hour rolling shifts with FIFO flights from major Australian capitals. Strong diagnostic abilities across hydraulics, pneumatics and diesel engines are

Qualifications

• Trade certificate required (Heavy Duty Diesel / Mobile Plant Fitter) and demonstrated hands-on maintenance experience on Epiroc or CAT drills.
• Strong diagnostic abilities across mobile plant hydraulics, pneumatics and diesel engine systems.
• Current Manual Driver's Licence and Australian Working Rights.
• National Police Clearance (issued within last 6 months).
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical including drug/alcohol screening.
• Valid High Risk Work licences (Working at Heights, Forklift, Dogging/Rigging) are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled servicing, fault diagnostics and mechanical repairs across Epiroc and CAT drill fleets.
• Troubleshoot and overhaul hydraulic systems, pneumatic circuits, compressor units and rotary head drives.
• Perform component replacements including mast structures, carousel assemblies, feed cylinders and engine modules.
• Read and interpret hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic schematics to execute fault-finding.
• Ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability on 12-hour rolling shifts, in line with site safety standards.

Job description

We are seeking qualified and experienced Drill Fitters to join our mobile plant maintenance team operating across major mining operations in the Pilbara. This role is dedicated to carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs, and component changeouts on high-capacity blast hole drill rigs, specifically focusing on Epiroc (Atlas Copco) and Caterpillar machinery.

PREMIUM Role

• Conduct scheduled servicing, fault diagnostics, and mechanical repairs across Epiroc and CAT drill fleets.
• Troubleshoot and overhaul hydraulic systems, pneumatic circuits, compressor units, and rotary head drives.
• Perform component replacements including mast structures, carousel assemblies, feed cylinders, engine modules, and undercarriages.
• Read and interpret hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics to execute autonomous fault-finding.
• Ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability across 12-hour rolling shifts in accordance with site safety standards.

PREMIUM Requirements

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter) or equivalent
• Demonstrated hands-on maintenance experience on Epiroc (D65, PV271/PV271E) or Caterpillar (MD6310) drills
• Strong diagnostic abilities across mobile plant hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engine systems.
• Current Manual Driver's Licence
• National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
• Full Australian Working Rights
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening
• Valid High Risk Work licences (Working at Heights, Forklift, Dogging/Rigging) are highly regarded.
