Job summary
Hunter Valley Operations is seeking a confident Drill & Blast Engineer to join our Technical Services team. Based on site in the Hunter Valley, you’ll work on diverse blasting environments, develop designs to safely mine waste and coal, and continuously improve drill and blast practices.
The role offers growth into senior technical and leadership pathways. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you’ll collaborate with Tech Services and external stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient blasting
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or demonstrated practical experience).
- Experience with drill and blast processes and safety and environmental controls.
Responsibilities
- Improve and optimise existing drill & blast processes on site.
- Produce designs for safe and efficient mining of waste and coal.
- Engage with Tech Services and external stakeholders.
- Apply and improve quality control across drill & blast activities.
- Understand and adhere to environmental restrictions.
- Design and analyse blasting performance throughout the mining cycle.
- Lead ad hoc projects and adopt new drill & blast technologies.
