Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Southport Donor Centre on a permanent part-time basis. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional donor experience while ensuring the supply of blood products for the community.

You will interview donors, perform clinical tasks, and support a rotating roster across a Southport campus and mobile unit in Queensland. A Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration is required, along with flexibility and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
• Flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility and suitability.
• Provide clinical oversight and guide team in the blood collection process.
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up machines and collections equipment.
• Insert and remove needles safely for whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
• Manage adverse donor reactions with instructions and assistance.
• Post-donation donor monitoring and rebooking assistance.
