Job summary

Right at Home Geelong is seeking caring Domestic Support & Companion Workers to help older Australians live independently at home. You will provide cleaning, companionship, meal assistance and community access support in clients’ homes, following care plans and service requirements.

The role focuses on domestic tasks and social support, not personal care, with opportunities for flexible local shifts and ongoing training. Applicants should have a valid Australian driver’s licence and a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic cleaning, hospitality, housekeeping, disability support, aged care or customer service.
• Current Australian Driver Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with household cleaning (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, bathroom cleaning).
• Laundry duties, ironing, changing bed linen.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen and living areas.

About the Role

As a Domestic Support & Companion Worker, you will play an important role in supporting clients to maintain their independence and continue living comfortably at home.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with household cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and bathroom cleaning.
• Laundry duties, ironing and changing bed linen.
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, including washing dishes and tidying living areas.
• Basic meal preparation and assistance with everyday household tasks.
• Shopping assistance and community errands as outlined in the client's care plan.
• Providing companionship, social interaction and meaningful conversation.
• Supporting clients to remain connected to their community and interests.
• Observing and reporting any concerns regarding a client's wellbeing or living environment.

This position focuses on domestic assistance and social support services and does not involve personal care, medication administration or clinical responsibilities.
