Right at Home Gold Coast South is seeking dependable Domestic Support Workers to provide practical household assistance to older Australians in their own homes. You will help maintain clean, safe and comfortable living environments that support independence and dignity.

This casual, flexible role offers local team support and meaningful, hands-on work. Duties include cleaning, laundry, light meal preparation and errands, with the emphasis on respecting client preferences and privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic cleaning, housekeeping or household support is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
• Good time management and ability to work independently.
• A respectful and professional approach when working in clients' homes.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks within allocated service times.
• Commitment to client dignity, privacy and independence.
• Driver's licence and access to a reliably insured vehicle.
• Employment screening and compliance documentation required.

About the role

As a Domestic Support Worker, you will provide practical household assistance to older clients, helping them maintain a clean, organised and comfortable living environment.

Your focus will be on domestic duties that support clients to remain independent in their own homes.

Key responsibilities include:

• General household cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and wiping surfaces.
• Cleaning bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and other household areas.
• Laundry, ironing and changing bed linen.
• Washing dishes and maintaining clean and tidy kitchen areas.
• Light meal preparation and basic kitchen assistance.
• General household tidying and organisation.
• Grocery shopping and essential errands where included in the client's approved service plan.
• Following client-specific instructions and respecting individual preferences regarding their home.
• Reporting any household safety concerns or changes in the client's circumstances to the appropriate office team.

Important:

This role focuses on domestic assistance within the home. It does not include personal care, showering, toileting, medication administration or manual handling duties.
