Job summary

Gladstone Community Linking Agency Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Domestic Assistant to support clients at home across Gladstone and surrounding areas. You will help with daily tasks, meal prep and laundry while encouraging independence and participation in care plans.

Join a supportive team, with flexible working arrangements and opportunities to pursue Certificate III in Community Services or related fields. Full training and supervision are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience performing domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
• Must hold a First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Willingness to work towards a Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support or Aged Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Encourage client participation to support independence.
• Help clients maintain control over daily living and functional capacity.
• Carry out routine administrative tasks to comply with policies and procedures.
• Build respectful relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable individuals to stay in the comfort of their own homes. Your responsibilities include:

• Assisting clients with domestic tasks like cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Encouraging clients to actively participate in their care, fostering independence.
• Supporting clients to maintain control of their lives by understanding and developing their functional capacity.
• Undertaking routine administrative tasks to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Building respectful relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Requirements

• Ability to undertake domestic/housekeeping tasks effectively.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Willingness to work towards Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support, or Aged Care (highly desirable).

Shifts & Rosters

• Domestic Services operate Monday to Friday.
• We welcome enquiries from those requiring half days or school hours.
