Job summary

Canine Resorts & Connect is seeking a capable dog trainer to join our team in a hands-on casual role blending dog training and kennel work. The position offers practical experience across training and animal care within an established pet retreat and training business.

Primarily based at Hedgegrove Pet Retreat in Golden Grove, duties include Day School, Group classes, Puppy School, social walks, and assisting with Board & Train programs, plus routine kennel tasks. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional dog training or relevant qualifications.
• Ability to handle a wide variety of dogs.
• Reliable and able to work independently.
• Willingness to perform kennel work and training duties.

Responsibilities

• Train with boarding dogs (Trainer Time), Day School, group classes, Puppy School, social walks, and private sessions.
• Assist with Board & Train programs and client handovers.
• Support senior trainers with complex behavioural cases.
• Carry out kennel duties: feeding, cleaning, enrichment, health monitoring, and safe handling.
• Attend to arrivals/departures and routine care.
