Job summary

Carinity is seeking a compassionate Diversional Therapist to enrich the lives of older people in our aged care community. You will design engaging, person-centred lifestyle programs and work with a multidisciplinary team to promote wellbeing, independence and social connection.

You will develop individual activity plans, coordinate events and ensure documentation and compliance with standards. Salary packaging options and not-for-profit benefits support a balanced work life.

Qualifications

• Certificate 4 in Diversional Therapy or equivalent recognised by Diversional & Recreational Therapy Australia.
• Demonstrated experience in an Aged Care environment.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety standards relevant to Diversional therapy activities in an Aged Care setting.
• Training or demonstrated experience in Dementia care.
• Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate Diversional Therapy programs that promote emotional, social and physical wellbeing for aged care residents.
• Develop individualised activity plans tailored to residents’ cognitive and physical abilities.
• Coordinate and promote lifestyle events and recreational activities, including outings and on-site entertainment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with aged care standards, including reporting and resident records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, volunteers, families and community groups to enhance residents’ lifestyle experience.

Your day-to-day will involve:

In addition, you have;

• Certificate 4 in Diversional Therapy or anotherqualification recognised by Diversional & Recreational TherapyAustralia
• Demonstrated experience in an Aged Care environment
• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Standards relevantto Diversional therapy activities and within an Aged Caresetting
• Training and/or demonstrated experience in Dementiacare
• Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
