Job summary

Workwear Group in Melbourne is seeking an experienced distribution and warehousing leader to own our Airport Distribution Centre. Reporting to the General Manager, Supply & Distribution, you will lead a two-shift operation, drive safety, customer outcomes and team performance through a group of operational leaders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Experience leading leaders within a multi-shift operational environment.
  • Strong exposure to workforce planning, productivity improvement and budget management.
  • Experience managing safety, quality and operational performance metrics.
  • Data-driven decision making and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Melbourne Airport Distribution Centre operation across inbound, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch and administration.
  • Develop and coach four direct reports and foster high-performance culture.
  • Drive site performance via DIFOT, TRIFFOR and KPIs, with corrective actions.
  • Champion safety culture and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage workforce planning and capacity to meet changing demand.
  • Support uniform tenders for operations.
  • Deliver productivity, quality and inventory accuracy improvements.
  • Oversee facilities, equipment and material-handling assets to ensure safe, compliant operation.
  • Manage contractor relationships to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Collaborate with Transport, Inventory, Planning, Customer Service, Technology and Supply to achieve objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for service, safety, efficiency and outcomes.

About the Role

Take ownership of a critical distribution centre operation that plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. Reporting to the General Manager, Supply & Distribution, you will lead a two-shift operation, driving safety, operational excellence, customer outcomes and team performance through a team of experienced operational leaders.

What you’ll be doing


  • Lead the end-to-end operation of the Melbourne Airport Distribution Centre across inbound, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch and administration activities.

  • Develop, coach and lead four direct reports while fostering a high-performance, accountable and engaged workplace culture.

  • Drive site performance through delivery of DIFOT, TRIFFOR and other operational KPIs, implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety and wellbeing requirements and relevant legislation.

  • Manage workforce planning, labour allocation and operational capacity to meet changing customer demand and business priorities.

  • Acting as the key contact to support uniform tenders on behalf of operations

  • Deliver productivity, quality and inventory accuracy improvements while optimising labour and operating costs.

  • Oversee facilities, equipment and material-handling assets to ensure a safe, compliant and efficient operation.

  • Manage contractor, maintenance and service-provider relationships to support uninterrupted site operations.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Transport, Inventory, Planning, Customer Service, Technology and Supply teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Lead and embed continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, safety, efficiency and customer outcomes.

What we’re looking for


  • 7+ years' experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics or supply chain operations.

  • Experience leading leaders within a multi-shift operational environment.

  • Strong exposure to workforce planning, productivity improvement and budget management.

  • Experience managing safety, quality and operational performance metrics.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.

  • A continuous improvement mindset supported by strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.

  • Qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or a related discipline are highly regarded.
