Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in Perth is seeking a proactive Legal Assistant to support Partners and a wider team of Lawyers. You will handle billing, calendar management, and document production, while engaging in client meetings and events.

The role may include some home-working flexibility. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a fast-paced legal environment, is organized, and enjoys mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Partners in a fast-paced legal environment.
• End-to-end billing experience.
• Strong time management and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism.
• Ability to anticipate needs and problem solve on the go.
• Matter management experience.
• Team-focused approach with mentoring mindset.
• Curiosity about new tech and AI enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Keep matters on track with time entries, reporting and complex billing.
• Manage Partners’ calendars, meetings, travel and events.
• Create, format, and manage documents in Microsoft Office and iManage.
• Organise client catch-ups from casual coffees to formal dinners.
• Help prepare business development materials that make an impact.
• Mentor and guide Admin staff.
