Job summary

GC Tow Trucks Light & Heavy is seeking a professional Dispatcher to join our team at our new Nerang facility on a full-time basis. This role sits at the heart of our call centre and customer service operations, linking customers with tow truck drivers to coordinate service calls while upholding safety and service quality.

Job description

GC Tow Trucks Light & Heavy is seeking a professional and organised Dispatcher to join our team on a full-time basis in our new Nerang facility. This is a critical customer-facing role within our call centre and customer service operations. As Dispatcher, you will be the vital link between our customers and our tow truck drivers, ensuring efficient coordination of all service calls and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and communicate clearly will be essential to the success of our operations and the safety of our team on the road.

What you'll be doing

Receiving and logging customer service requests via telephone and digital channels

Assigning tow truck jobs to available drivers based on location, capability and current workload

Communicating job details clearly to drivers via radio or mobile communication systems

Tracking the location and status of vehicles and drivers throughout their shifts

Providing customers with accurate estimated arrival times and regular updates on their service requests

Managing customer queries and complaints with professionalism and empathy

Maintaining accurate records of all dispatch activities and customer interactions

Coordinating with drivers to ensure timely completion of jobs and customer satisfaction

Responding to emergency calls and prioritising urgent towing requests appropriately

Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and company procedures at all times

What we're looking for

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure

Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail

Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch software and mobile communication technologies

Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in fast-paced environments

Customer service experience, ideally within a call centre, emergency services or transport/logistics sector

Reliability and punctuality with flexibility to work shifts as required by the business

A professional approach to challenging situations and customer interactions

Relevant customer service or dispatch certification or training is preferred but not essential

Knowledge of the Towing industry is preferred but not essential

Experience with LINKSOFT Tow Manager is preferred but not essential

A valid Queensland driver's licence is essential criteria to be considered for this role.
