Job summary

Queensland Police Service is seeking a role within the Emergency Management & Coordination Group to support public information and warnings during disaster operations. The role focuses on developing strategies, issuing critical information, and ensuring consistent government response across levels.

The position requires capacity to participate in on-call duties and support operational responses during emergencies, including outside normal hours and deployments as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience in public information and warnings and/or disaster management is advantageous.
• Experience with policy and procedures development is desirable.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of public information and warnings function for disaster events.
• Create and issue warnings and critical information during disaster operations.
• Develop and improve policy, procedures, systems, and communication strategies for warnings.
• Prepare briefs, reports, and submissions related to public information and warnings.
• Build relationships with internal and external disaster management stakeholders.
• Promote teamwork and ensure timely delivery of services.
