About the Client:

Our client is a gentleman in his late 50s living with early onset Alzheimer's disease and coeliac disease. Before his diagnosis, he was an active man who enjoyed the gym, church and the company of family. When supported by calm, familiar staff and a predictable routine, he can still be sociable and easy-going, enjoying simple conversation and time outdoors.

About the Role:

This is a male-only role. Being male is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 30 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth), given the nature of intimate personal care our client requires and the client's preferences and safety considerations documented in his care plan.

You will support our client across a 24/7 SIL model, working across morning routines, community access, meal preparation, evening supervision and active overnight shifts. You will work alongside a small, dedicated household team, guided by a Positive Behaviour Support Plan and supported by our clinical and rostering functions.

  • Personal care including showering, dressing, grooming and continence support, delivered with dignity and warmth.
  • Frequent verbal prompting and hands-on support to guide the client through daily routines.
  • Medication administration in line with the care plan (clinical oversight provided).
  • Meal planning, preparation and supervision, maintaining a strict gluten-free environment for coeliac safety.
  • 1:1 community access, transport and social participation, with close supervision to manage disorientation and absconding risk.
  • Active overnight supervision, including support with disrupted sleep and settling.
  • Accurate documentation of shift notes, medication records, incidents and behavioural observations in line with NDIS Practice Standards.
About You
  • Male applicants only, under Section 30 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth).

  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease or acquired brain injury.
  • Confidence with Positive Behaviour Support strategies and trauma-informed care.
  • Physical presence, resilience and manual handling competence to manage occasional aggression during personal care safely and calmly.
  • Coeliac awareness and strict gluten-free food handling.
  • Calm, patient communication style - able to de-escalate without confrontation.
  • Reliable, punctual, non-judgemental and committed to continuity for the client.
  • Availability for a mix of day, evening and active overnight shifts.
  • NSW Driver’s License (or similar) plus own car is desirable.
