Job summary

Choices And Rights is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to join our Sunnybank team in a casual role, supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently and safely within the community.

Ideal candidates have experience with mental health clients, are available for regular shifts, and can cover for other team members. Sleepover and night shifts are available, with pets in some homes.

Qualifications

• Experience with mental health disorders and disability/aged care.
• Willingness to provide day and overnight supports.
• Ability to travel to surrounding suburbs and work across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and supervision for local participants in the community.
• Assist individuals to live independently, safely and meaningfully.
• Sleepover shifts and active night shifts are available as required.

About the role

We are seeking multiple caregivers to provide support and supervision for our local participants. Ideal candidates will have experience with mental health clients, the availability to do regular shifts, and occasionally provide cover for other members of the team. Sleepover shifts and active night shifts are also available.

Please note: some of our clients have pets in their homes, so being comfortable working around pets is essential.

Skills and Experience

• Experience with mental health disorders
• Disability and/or Aged Care Industry experience
• Willingness to provide day and overnight supports

What you will need

• Current Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Current National Police Check
• Current Driver’s License
• Roadworthy, registered, and insured vehicle
• Availability to work a range of shifts, including active nights
• Located in or willing to travel to surrounding suburbs
