Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking a Disability Support Worker for sleepover shifts in Toowoomba. You will deliver person-centred support within SIL homes to help clients achieve daily living goals and community participation.

A permanent roster includes multiple sleepovers per Fortnight, with opportunities to support across days, evenings and weekends. A compassionate, professional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid/CPR, National Criminal History Check and a full driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to help clients build independence, confidence and connection.
• Assist with daily living tasks including housekeeping, personal care and budgeting.
• Support meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community outings.
• Help clients engage in daily activities and maintain connections with family and services.

Disability Support Worker (Sleepovers) - Toowoomba

As a Disability Support Worker, working within our Supported Independent Living homes, you’ll provide person-centred support that empowers people with disability to build independence, confidence and connection. No two days are the same — one day you might be supporting someone to learn new life skills, the next helping them get out into the community or achieve a personal goal.

We have a permanent roster available across our SIL homes in Toowoomba, offering master rosters with between 30- 60 hours fortnightly (minimum hours), working sleepovers (up to 5 sleepovers per Fortnight including Weekends).

To be considered for this role, you must be available to work five consecutive sleepover shifts per fortnight.

Other key duties will include:

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook. Record keeping Care Plans & RiskMan to log incidents
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
