Job summary

Yooralla in Victoria is seeking a Disability Support Worker for residential accommodation in Sale (Acacia Crt and Topping St). Casual positions available, 2 roles, with an hourly rate of $36–$38 plus Superannuation, Casual loading and NFP salary packaging benefits.

You will support people with disability to live the lives they choose, in Shared Supported and Independent Living settings, and occasionally in the community, helping clients achieve their goals with care and respect.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or related experience.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Australian Driver Licence.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support clients to achieve goals and maintain independence.
• Engage clients in activities at home and in the community.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with safety and quality standards.

• effective communication skills, and good English literacy to communicate well with our clients

• willingness to support clients with personal care activities
• Australian Driver Licence
• the right to work in Australia, and
• The ability to get a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate if you don’t already have one.

A Certificate IV in Disability, relevant work experience or an interest in community services would be great, if you already have any of these. If not, don’t worry as Yooralla provides excellent training and support, and can even support you to work and study. You may even find you have some transferable skills to bring to the role.

You will be subject to NDIS Worker Screening Check.
