Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a support worker to assist customers with disability to live more independently at home and in the community. You will mentor, coach daily living skills, and provide respectful personal care and community participation support.

Role requires a current First Aid certificate, NDIS screening clearance (or willingness to obtain), and a driver’s license. SCHADS-rated hourly role with ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in disability support settings preferred.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance required or willing to obtain.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop customers to explore and pursue personal interests.
  • Coach independent living skills including cooking and domestic tasks.
  • Administer medications and follow individual support plans.
  • Complete clear handover notes and incident reports.
  • Provide personal care as required (toileting, showering, feeding, dressing).
  • Assist customers to engage with community programs and activities.

Job description

  • Must have Drivers Licence and Full Comprehensive Insurance.

This role follows a 4-week rotating roster totaling approximately 120 hours over 4 weeks. The roster includes:

  • Morning shifts between 6:00am and 3:00pm
  • Afternoon and evening shifts between 2:00pm and 10:00pm
  • A combination of weekday and weekend work
  • Regular Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday shifts, with alternate weeks including Sunday and Monday afternoon/evening shifts

Lifestyle Solutions provide innovative and flexible person-centered support for people living with a disability. Support Worker to assist a customer to become more independent, in their own home and in the community.

As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and skill development – guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies
  • Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills
  • Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans
  • Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports
  • Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required
  • Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
  • Personal care is a must, and must be comfortable and knowledgeable in doing so.
  • Epilepsy management knowledge is essential.
  • Community Access will also be a requirement at certain times.
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, mood disorders).
  • Understanding of mental health crisis management.

  • Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003
  • Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
  • Be compassionate, reliable and punctual
