Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking casual Disability Support Workers to assist clients in Rockhampton, delivering personal care, daily living activities, and community participation across shared housing or private homes. You will cover a 24/7 roster, including weekends and sleepover/short shifts.

Successful applicants will undertake pre-employment checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check, Blue Card, and NDIS Worker Screening. A current First Aid and CPR certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with people with disability.
• Experience with complex support needs and behaviours of concern.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.
• Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans.
• Assist clients to achieve their goals through meaningful activities and community participation.
• Support clients with daily living activities, personal care, and skill development.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and record keeping.
• Build positive relationships with clients, families, advocates, and colleagues.
• Promote and advocate for client choice, independence, and control.
